Matching pets with potential adopters; doing adoption paperwork, walking and holding pets, answering questions, picking up and returning Shelter animals, set-up, clean-up, break down. These events are usually once each month on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm, but occasionally there are different days and hours. Various locations in both Baldwin County and Mobile.

Helping people with animal related issues; answering telephone calls, matching callers with pets on file, lost & found, information and referral, clerical work and occasional special projects. Volunteers work one shift (1/2 day) per week. Training is provided.

CHRISTMAS BY THE BAY is our biggest annual fundraiser, requiring hundreds of volunteer hours during a five-day period each year. We need ticket takers, merchant services workers, decorators, loaders & unloaders, Program Ad salespersons, party clean-up, bartenders, security guards, and many , many more people! This may be just the right niche for you!

We need people who will house, feed and LOVE dogs and cats on a semi-temporary basis (usually from three to six weeks, sometimes longer) while we seek a more permanent home situation for the pet. Most of these animals have special needs that preclude their residing at one of the shelters.
