Baldwin Animal Rescue Center
welcome to Baldwin Animal Rescue Cener

We do not have a shelter of our own. The Baldwin County Humane Society, as a partner with the Maddie's Fund Baldwin County Pet Rescue Project, is an Adoption Guarantee Organization. We rescue, rehabiliate, and re-home hundreds of abused, abandoned and neglected pets each year.

Alabama State law mandates that counties and municipalities with populations of over 5000 provide animal shelters and animal control services, paid by our tax dollars. The Baldwin Animal Rescue Center works cooperatively with them to place the shelter animals in loving new homes, thus minimizing the tragic necessity of euthanasia due to overcrowded conditions. As a matter of fact, most of the pet photos in our Photo Galleries are pets available for adoption through a local shelter! We encourage you to visit our shelters often, not only to adopt a new pet, but just to visit the animals and show them you care. You may be surprised, and find the perfect feline or canine companion just waiting to become a part of your family!

How to Help: Planned Giving

The Baldwin Animal Rescue Center has been helping animals since 1979. We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, receiving no government funding, with only three paid employees and very little overhead. The funds we receive are used to rescue, medically treat and re-home abused, abandoned and neglected animals0. Every pet adopted through BARC receives a free spay or neuter. This is a proven way to reduce the pet over-population, and reduce the resultant euthanasia in our government shelters.
